PhD defence: Alexandra Brandt Ryborg Jønsson defends her thesis "Aging with Multimorbidity - Illness and Inequity in Everyday Life"

On August 20 at 1 PM, Alexandra Jønsson will defend her thesis entitled Aging with Multimorbidity - Illness and Inequity in Everyday Life at the University of Copenhagen, Gothersgade 140, Auditorium 1. Please find the invitation attached here.

The thesis inquires into the contextual framework that forms the mode in which aging with multimorbidity is experienced, perceived, and interpreted subjectively. Drawing upon anthropological, medical, and social science theories, the thesis builds on data collected through 18 months of fieldwork in a sociodemographically challenged area of rural Denmark. Through discussions on social health inequities, power, gender, ethics, and knowledge, the thesis aims to develop new concepts and experiment with representations of ethnographic data.

The defence is open, but kindly refrain from entering or leaving the room between 1.10 and 1.30 PM, as a theatre performance will take place as part of the defence.

After the defence, the Research Unit for General Practice will host a reception in building 24 of Øster Farimagsgade 5.
